This brand was one I tried as I was just beginning to venture into the natural beauty product world in hopes of improving my hypothyroid symptoms. Reducing my exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals is the goal. So, I decided to ditch the stuff filled with synthetic chemicals for a more natural option.
Shea Moisture is available at several big box retailers, drug stores, online, and even at some beauty stores. The price point is reasonable at around $10 per product, depending on where you find it. You can also find it on my Amazon store: http://astore.amazon.com/mycrnoli-20
The scent of the Yucca and Plantain line is a mixture of floral and fruity, which comes from essential oil blends. The shampoo makes a nice lather, smells amazing, and washes out easily. You’d never know it’s made of natural ingredients! The conditioner smells just as amazing as the shampoo and is moisturizing without being too heavy. It also rinses out easily. The Yucca and Plantain line is made to combat breakage, moisturize, control frizz, boost shine and to strengthen hair. Now that I’m no longer coloring, my hair is healthier and not as dry as it was when I was coloring it. However, heat styling with a blow dryer and flat iron are still damaging. I can use the Yucca and Plantain line on my hair whether I’m blow drying and flat ironing or wearing it wavy. When I wear it straight, my hair is smooth, moisturized and shiny. When I wear it wavy it looks moisturized, so I really like it! If your hair is prone to breakage, frizz, fly-aways and dullness, I think this product line will work for you as well as it did for me.
I can usually go for 2 to 4 days without re-washing after using the Yucca and Plantain line, depending on how much I work out or sweat, which is usually quite a bit since I’ve started doing PiYo again. Overall, I’m happy with this product and would recommend it for anyone with dry, frizzy hair that also tends to be unruly. If you have wavy hair and wear it that way most of the time, you might also like the Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus line.
