As I mentioned last week, I started having shakes twice per day in an effort to get that last stubborn layer of fat off me. The first shake of the day is vegan Shakeology, and the second is Garden of Life Raw protein powder. Both are high quality, plant based protein powders with no artificial sweeteners, and are gluten, dairy, and soy free. I am eating solid foods during the day in the form of snacks and my lunches. I’m following the recommendation of my Naturopath and eating fish. She recommended that I eat fish 2 – 3 times per week. Well, I ate it four times last week! It was the recipe I posted two weeks ago, but with tuna instead of salmon and added some pickled beets too. We didn’t buy the run-of-the-mill pickled beets – our local health food store sells Othentic brand organic baby beets with only organic ingredients. Let me tell you, I’m not a lover of beets! These do not have that “dirt” taste that I associate with beets, so I didn’t find that they interfered with the flavor at all! Now, the salad didn’t look all that appealing, but it tasted great!
My workouts for this week were:
- Monday: PiYo Full Body Blast – 30 minutes
- Tuesday: PiYo Sweat – 35 minutes
- Wednesday: PiYo Core – 30 minutes
- Thursday: PiYo Sculpt – 30 minutes
- Friday: PiYo Strong Legs – 30 minutes
- Saturday: PiYo Drench – 45 minutes
- Sunday: Kundalini Yoga – 20 minutes
I must say, having a liquid dinner has made life much easier! Typically, I get home from work around 6:45 pm, and by the time I get my makeup off & change out of my work clothes, it’s 7 pm. To then try to cook dinner and/or eat a full meal takes up most of the remaining time I have left for the evening. My husband can’t eat past about 6 pm due to his acid reflux, so we haven’t been eating dinner together. With me having shakes in the evening instead of solid food, we’re able to have our “dinner’ together! I’m not finding myself getting hungry in the middle of the night, either. The shakes are filling & taste pretty good. All in all, I’m pleased with the changes so far.
Thanks for taking the time to read!
