Exercise Accountability for Week Ending 10.18.15

This week started strong. I made up the workout I missed last week and was on track to get caught up but by Friday I was feeling bad again & missed a few more workouts. My husband went out of town for a Wounded Warrior Project bike ride, so I was home alone for almost 4 whole days. I spent it getting caught up on some of the business items that needed to be accomplished for quite a while but I let life get me off track. The stress of moving, starting to work for myself, rehearsals getting more intense, and the beginning of a new venture all likely contributed to me getting shingles.

I’m not sure my immune system ever got back to 100% because even though I cancelled my PiYo classes, missed a week of rehearsals & did less intense exercise I still ended up getting sick. To top it all off now I’ve been dealing with cold/allergy symptoms for more than a week now.  Last week I had a sore throat for a few days which cleared up.  This week I’ve been dealing more with head congestion, a runny nose, and general malaise.  But hey, things happen to everyone.  All I can do now is do my best to get back on track. Since I missed several workouts this week, I think the best thing I can do is to add an extra week to Block 2 of the Body Beast Challenge & hope that I don’t continue to feel sick.

All that said, here are my workouts for the week:

  • Monday:   Body Beast Bulk Back – 29 minutes – this was making up the one I missed last week since I was sick
  • Tuesday: Body Beast Bulk Chest – 30 minutes
  • Wednesday: Body Beast Bulk Legs – 41 minutes
  • Thursday: Body Beast Bulk Arms – 35 minutes & Beast Abs 10 minutes
  • Friday: No workout – not feeling well
  • Saturday:  No workout – still not feeling well
  • Sunday: No workout – still not feeling well

I’m hoping that taking these last few days off has given my body the time it needs to recover. I’ve used every holistic remedy I could think of for cold care and allergy symptoms! Ate organic chicken soup all weekend, took Country Life Aller Max for allergies, took extra vitamins A, C, E & Zinc, drank Emergen-C & herbal tea, ran my Young Living essential oil diffuser with oils specifically for boosting immunity and clearing sinuses, and getting extra sleep. Fingers crossed that I’m over this and can move forward with my exercise program!
