Cuisinart Immersion Blender Review

This little gadget is a huge part of our kitchen. So much so that I can’t believe I’ve never reviewed it! We use it in many of the recipes I’ve posted, such as the base for beef and deer chili, and Bolognese sauce. We’ve also used it in several recipes that I haven’t shared (because they were fails). My husband is in the field this week and I’m working in Nashville two days which means we are both without access to a refrigerator or microwave to bring our own food. It would have been a waste to make something since neither of us would be able to eat it. During the days that I’m home, I plan to eat Mahi salad (similar to my cod and beet salad).  My husband can’t eat solid food at night due to his acid reflux, and I too have been drinking my dinner as a way to show support to him and to help me lean out a bit. Not to worry, we are drinking a healthy, whole food plant-based protein shake that we both love, so we’re not lacking in calories or nutrition.

Since we didn’t make a large pot meal this week, I don’t have a new recipe to share. That makes it a perfect time to share with you why I love this immersion blender and why you need one! My mom bought us this as a gift a few years ago and it has become indispensable. Whether it’s making soup, sauce, or even mashed potatoes, it’s come in handy so many times!

The number one thing that I love about it is that it’s so easy to use. Stick it down into whatever you need to blend and it purees it quickly. It is 14 inches long, has a 200-watt motor, 5-foot cord, 3-year warranty, and the blade detaches from the handle with the push of a button.

Here’s a list of what it can do:

  • Blend cooked veggies into soup – without burning yourself, having to blend in batches, or making a mess. The immersion blender goes right into whatever dish you’re using.
  • Blend mashed potatoes
  • Blend smoothies
  • Whip eggs
  • Chop nuts
  • And more!

Once we got this gadget we’re not sure how we ever cooked without it! I always wanted to make my own vegetable soup at home but never did because I couldn’t stand the idea of trying to put multiple batches of hot veggies & broth into the blender. The risk of getting burned, the extra dirty dishes and the amount of time it would take to do all that was simply overwhelming. An immersion blender makes easy work of cooking soup. Cook the veggies in broth until they’re soft, stick the blender in there and blend until creamy. Now we can make soups, sauces, smoothies, mashed potatoes and omelets in no time. The brand my mom bought us is Cuisinart, which is available in my Amazon store.
