As you may know, my husband and I recently went to visit my family a few states away and I took some time off from my normal posting schedule. This gave me a chance to take a step back and gain clarity. It made me realize that instead of creating a separate set of accounts for the fitness side of things, I should have simply changed my name and become more focused in what I discuss. On that note, I changed the name of my of my blog from My Crazy Nontoxic Life to Hypothyroid Fit (url change to come). I’m also in the process of moving everything back to my original set of accounts and changing the names to Hypothyroid Fit.
My goal remains the same: to achieve overall health and wellness despite the challenges of having Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism, and to help others going through the same thing. The way I did it is by diet, exercise, and avoiding toxins in every day consumer products such as personal care, cosmetics, household cleaners, food and other items (which I discuss in my ebook). My blog is focused on discussing those things, and my social media should incorporate all of them, because they all play an equally important role in being Hypothyroid Fit. To make things a bit more focused, I will be changing my blog categories up a bit. I plan to keep the Fitness and Fare categories. In the near future, I will merge Polish, Palace and Fortification categories into one called Avoid Toxins.
On social media, I was posting daily nontoxic tips, which ran the gamut of different types of chemicals and what issues they caused. Now I will focus solely on the things that negatively impact thyroid and immune system function (since Hashimoto’s is the immune system attacking the thyroid). There are many different toxins that should be avoided for general health, but if I focus on the ones that affect thyroid/immune system function it will be much more meaningful to people with Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism. I will still review products that I’ve tried, and I still have my Amazon store where I recommend thyroid-friendly products I’ve used and love. I will also be posting mini-reviews on social media such as Facebook and Instagram so be sure to follow me there too!
Because I am still fairly new as a personal trainer, I think it would be best if I spend more time learning from my in-person experience prior to offering online training. In the online fitness department, I will focus on Beachbody coaching. Yes, I am a personal trainer with access to a gym that has all kinds of wonderful equipment and I still prefer to do my Beachbody workouts at home. If you’re like me and prefer to work out at home too, I’d love to help you! Beachbody is offering a 30-day free trial which includes access to stream workouts such as P90X, Insanity & more. If you sign up through me I’ll be encouraging you to try different workouts, test your limits, and stick with it long term. Let’s get started with your new healthy habits today!
Even though I’m making some changes, my mission remains the same: to help women struggling with Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism get fit and make realistic lifestyle changes from a place of personal understanding. I would love to help you not only with fitness but with hacks on eating well, and choosing safer beauty/personal care/household items. Reducing your family’s exposure to toxins will make everyone feel better, including you!
Thanks for taking the time to read! I would love to hear what you think about these changes! Is there any specific topic you would like to hear more about?
